American Paddlefish Caviar 1 75 Oz 50

American Paddlefish (polyodon spathula) “Malossol” Caviar has a distinguished, smooth, butterly flavor. Aromatic and savory, it resembles the more pricey Osetra and Sevruga sturgeon caviars in aspect and taste, with slighty littler eggs. It has a shiny light grey color, a robust flavor and firm pearls. Paddlefish caviar is harvested from the American paddlefish (also known as spoonbill). This roe may range in color from dark gray to black. The “Astrakhan process” follows the traditionalisti Russian guidelines and constructing techniques. Our caviar is prepared only with pure gourmet sea salt, yielding “Malossol” caviar of particular quality. Our 1, 2, and 4 ounce selections come in glass jars. Our 1.75 and 5.5 ounce selections come in beautiful crystal glass jars, perfective for gift giving. All other sizes come in graceful conventional tins. Labeling may vary slightly. Shelf life is 4 to 6 weeks, refrigerated, ideally at 28 to 32 degrees.

THE BEST!!!!!!!

French sardines are so unlike sardines in the U.S. and other places. Much larger with a light, non fishy, taste. The ConneTable brand is on the high side in both price and taste. We have sampled sardines from all over Europe and these are easily the best.

Serve with a nice french bread and DO NOT discard the oil, it is part of the experience.

you have to like sardines, of course, but these are absolutely primo. Savory, not especially ‘fishy’, if you like canned fish you’ll love these, and the price is fair. About 4 large sardines in a can. Delicious.

I recently got more cravings for sardines and I didn’t want to pay $2-3 for a can of sardines. I saw these and thought hmm… maybe I’ll give it a try. Definitely worth the money. So I think in my opinion it tastes really good. The smoke flavor is there and it enhances the flavor of sardines. It’s a pretty decent portion and easy pull tab. I haven’t tried any of the fancier sardines like from Spain or something, so I don’t know the difference. These are great by themselves or on crackers Overall, I would buy again.

Not bad…extra scaly this time…

Pacific Crest Sardines can be hit and miss. Sometimes I get sardines with extra scales that I literally have to wash off in order to consume.

These still taste great and you can rinse out the extra oil with a bit of hot tap water to reduce calories.

Regarding the ‘smoked’ flavor…I honestly taste no discernible difference in flavor from the Pacific Crest Sardines in water…just a bit richer because of being packed in soybean oil instead of water.

These sardines have 8 grams of fat per can but if you rinse them off, they probably are closer in fat content to the Pacific Crest sardines in water which only have 3 grams of fat per can.

Tomatoe and chili are terrible

I ordered a case of each. The tomatoe chili are the worst sardines I’ve ever tried. The title should read sardines in tomatoe and sugar, as sugar is placed in the ingrediants before salt or chili powder. Besides the sauce the fish did not seem to have good flavor either. The case in smoked oil were quite good, good taste and the fish were medium sized with good flavor and texture. I would rate them 4 or 5 stars but the tomatoe chili deserve no stars or negative stars.

Chocolate gifts are, perhaps, the tastiest gifts that anybody could hope to receive. The problem with chocolate gifts, though, is making sure that they do not melt before they arrive at their destination!

This is rather easy if you are hand-delivering your chocolate gifts. But if, on the other hand, you plan on mailing your them, it is a whole other story. Here are some tips to help you make sure that your gifts of chocolate do not break while being handled and to make sure that they do not turn into gifts of chocolate soup:

· If you are mailing a chocolate bar and you do not want it to break, undertake taping a stiff piece of cardboard to the back of it and then wrapping it in a piece of bubble wrap.

· If you plan to mail a chocolate gift for the duration of the dead of winter, it will probably stay fine and not melt. If, on the other hand, you suppose your chocolate gift to arrive exclusively solid in California in the heat of August, you need to think again. Avoid sending chocolate for the duration of times of uttermost heat.

· Instead of sending chocolate gifts full of truffles and candy bars, consider sending brownies and/or cookies (save the cookies dipped in chocolate for colder months, though). If you do determine to mail cookies, pick out ones that do not break easily, like drop cookies. Pack them in foil-lined tin or little box. Put sheets of wax paper among the layers of cookies. Cushion the tin or box of cookies within the shipping box with plastic grocery sacks (or other such material). Mark the box with “perishable – food.” Also write on the top, “this side up” to give hope or courage to careful handling.

· If you are sending other items along with your chocolate, place your chocolate in a zip-lock bag (and suck out all the air) to make sure that in case it does melt, not one thing else is ruined.

· Pay a little extra to send your chocolate overnight, or at least send it 2-3 day priority. The sooner it gets there, the less likely it will melt, first.

· Make sure that the recipient will be home when it is received. If your box has to wait on the doorstop in the hot sun, the chocolate will surely melt! Maybe even ask for a signature.

· If it is not a delicate chocolate, freeze it before you box it up to mail it. It will not stay frozen, but it will take longer for your chocolate gifts to melt.

· Pack your chocolate gifts with frozen gel packs, arid ice, or another cold source. If you use arid ice, write on the box “contains arid ice” to warn the recipients. Be sure to pack the chocolate in a zip lock bag so that it does not directly touch the arid ice, and do not touch the ice with your own hands. Write “keep refrigerated” on the outside of the box.

· Send your chocolate gift package at the beginning of the week to assure that it will not sit at the mailing facility over the weekend.

· Send chocolate that is already melted! In other words, why not send a yummy chocolate sauce or chocolate for fondue!

Betty Crocker frosting in a fancy package

They charged me $10.00 for shipping and handling. I figured, okay, it is in a temperature secure package and they rush it because it is perishable, but no, it came in a regular box, and it was sent out before a holiday weekend, so it spent extra time floating around. Once it arrived it was not ‘individualy wrapped’, but two large bags in one box. The main ingredient if vegetable shortening and the flavor and texture is about the same as frosting off the baking shelves at my grocery store. Waste of time and money, but if you aren’t picky the flavor is okay.

The only truffles I’ve ever really liked!

I’ve had MANY different types, including Godiva, belgian stuff, etc. and these are really the only ones that I like. I don’t know what it is, but these are AMAZING! Just the right consistency, not too sugary, not too bitter, very rich, not quite like fudge, but not crumbly, either. Great stuff! You might want to check out Costco, who also carries this stuff.
